HOW TO BUY
Buying from Texas JDM is simple. As a fully licensed, bonded and insured motor vehicle dealer, we assume all the risk when it comes to buying an imported vehicle from Japan. Before being offered for sale, each vehicle we import is titled, inspected, serviced and test driven to ensure you get a vehicle you can trust. If you are a Texas resident, Texas JDM handles all the title and registration work for you so the only thing you'll have to do is install your license plates once they arrive in the mail. Out of state buyers will receive the title (assigned to the buyer), bill of sale and import documents. This should be all that is needed to title and register the vehicle in your home state.
While we prefer an in-person visits so you can personally inspect our curated inventory of quality Japanese Domestic Market vehicles, we can also offer Facetime and video walk-arounds and test drives.
While we can not offer warranties, we do our best to ensure that every vehicle we sell is safe, reliable and ready to enjoy. Most vehicles get four new tires, new batteries and an oil and filter change at a minimum. Our mechanics inspect drivetrains, brakes, ball joints, belts, hoses, air filters and air conditioning systems and address any deficiencies. A thorough test-drive is then performed to make sure all systems operate normally.
Once you have selected a vehicle, we offer several payment options. In addition to cash, wire transfers, cashier’s checks, money orders, and credit cards (3% fee), we can also accept partial payments via Zelle and PayPal (3% fee).
Financing:
Because of the age of the vehicles we sell and the fact that they generally do not have 17-digit NHTSA conforming VINs, traditional auto financing is not available. If you need to finance, we recommend the following lending services:
www.lightstream.com LightStream is a division of Truist Bank that offers loans for just about anything. Rates are generally based on credit history, assets, debt to income and payment history. Many of our customers wind up using this service.
www.apcu.com Atlanta Postal Credit Union is a great resource for financing a right-hand-drive JDM vehicle for mail delivery. You must however be a current employee of the USPS to use their lending services.
Pre Purchase Inspections:
While we make a good faith effort to service and inspect everything we sell, please keep in mind that these are 25+ year-old vehicles and we do encourage third-party, unbiased pre-purchase inspections. For a reasonable fee, we will gladly transport any vehicle to and from a local ASE Certified mechanic of your choice. This is particularly helpful on long distance purchases.
Fly in and Drive Home:
We would love to share some Texas hospitality with you. We gladly offer free airport pickup for any customers flying into Austin Bergstrom Airport (AUS). We provide 60 day temporary tags for all vehicles sold. Come enjoy the live music capitol of the world and try some authentic Texas BBQ!
Out-of-State Delivery:
Affordable transportation is also available. We subscribe to a national load board and pass the cost savings along to our customers. Most people are surprised by how inexpensively we can ship vehicles. If you decide to have your vehicle shipped, we will provide additional photos and a walk-around video prior to departure so you can ensure your new vehicle arrives in the same condition as when it left. While we only use licensed, bonded and insured motor vehicle transporters, we strongly recommend having all vehicles personally insured prior to shipment.
